Wawrzyczek: Nielsen can’t handle the pressure

Lukasz Wawrzyczek (20-3-2, 3 KOs) believes the pressure will prove too much for Patrick Nielsen (22-1, 11 KOs) when the pair meet on December 13 at the Albertslund MusikTeatret in Copenhagen.

Nielsen returns following an unsuccessful interim WBA World title challenge against Dmitry Chudinov in Moscow. Wawrzyczek claims the Danish middleweight will be unable to cope with the pressure of coming back from defeat to fight in front of his hometown fans.

"I'm not worried about fighting Nielsen in his hometown,’’ said the 30 year-old Pole. ‘’I don’t think it gives him an advantage, in fact I think it will be a disadvantage.

“Patrick will be under huge pressure. He knows he cannot afford to lose again. I think that the pressure may prove to be too much for him.

“I’m expecting a tough fight. I know that Patrick is a dangerous opponent, but I’m an experienced boxer and I’m in no way afraid of him. This fight is a huge opportunity for me, and I can give Patrick more problems than he already has.”

Patrick Nielsen co-headlines the show with his younger brother Micki Nielsen (15-0, 12 KOs) who faces former Mikkel Kessler opponent Gusmyr Perdomo (21-4, 14 KOs), while Swedish light heavyweight Erik Skoglund (21-0, 11 KOs) takes on former world champion Glen Johnson (54-19-2, 37 KOs).

All the action is available to watch live on TV3 Sport 2 (17.30-21.00) and TV3+ (21.00-01.00). Tickets are available via http://www.billetnet.dk.
