Svensson warns Riederer: Be careful what you say

Klara Svensson (13-0, 5 KOs) has warned Marie Riederer (15-1-1, 10 KOs) to be careful what she says ahead of their interim WBC Female World Light Welterweight title fight on September 13 at TAP1 in Copenhagen.

‘’The Swedish Princess’’ has hit back at Riederer after the German claimed she lacks punching power. ‘’Marie’s words testify how little she must know about me as a boxer,’’ said the 26 year-old from Malmö.

"She should be careful what she says, because these words motivate me more than she'll ever know, and on September 13, I will make her regret these words.’’

It’s been eight months since Svensson last entered the ring, scoring a brutal first-round knockout victory over Veronika Hornyák, and the time away from the ring has been spent in the gym preparing for this next big challenge.

"Marie does not know how hard I've been training since my last fight, and based on her comments she has probably not seen many of my fights. I think she could be in for a big surprise.''

Svensson is currently sparring with the hard-hitting Bulgarian Milena Koleva and finalising fight tactics with coach Joey Gamache.

‘’It’s been great having Milena in the gym. She’s given me some of the best sparring I have ever had,’’ says Svensson. ‘’Joey and I have studied Marie carefully, and come up with a plan that is sure to destroy her confidence."

Svensson’s interim WBC Female World Light Welterweight title fight is available to watch live on TV10. Tickets are available via http://www.billetnet.dk.
