It´s Denmark vs. America as Team Sauerland and Sacramento Kings go head-to-head for Guinness World Fan Noise Record this weekend

Team Sauerland is confident to set a new Guinness World Record for fan noise on Saturday night – despite some ambitious competition from across the ocean. According to the official Guinness webpage, the current record stands at 106.6 dBA. It was recorded during a time-out of the LA Clippers-Milwaukee Bucks NBA game at Bradley Centre, Milwaukee in December 2008. Some five years later, there will be two attempts within just 24 hours. On Friday night (Nov. 15), the Sacramento Kings will try to break the record during their home game against the Detroit Pistons. On Saturday, the home fans of WBA & WBO Intercontinental Middleweight Champion Patrick Nielsen (20-0, 9 KOs) will give it a go at MusikTeatret Albertslund, which is located just outside Copenhagen. “Boxing is all about timing and countering,” promoter Nisse Sauerland said. “Should needs be we will land the decisive counterpunch and knock out the Kings´ record. Make no mistake, we wish them the best of luck. They have done a brilliant job with their viral #HereWeRoar campaign. But we´ll take it one step further - #HereWeRoarKO.”

Guinness has officially accepted Team Sauerland´s world record challenge, which will be broadcast live on television on the Viasat channels across Scandinavia. “We´ve got experts with a high-profile decibel device, 2000 ear plugs and the support of Patrick´s wild fans,” Sauerland added. “They might be outnumbered, but the great acoustics at the venue will give us the chance for a big upset. May the loudest fans win.”

Undefeated Nielsen faces Mexican Jose Pinto (24-5, 15 KOs) in the main event of the Nordic Fight Night. The 22-year-old, who is closing on a world title shot, will be fighting in his backyard Albertslund for the first time of his career.
