The Nordic Fight Night will return to Frederikshavn on Saturday, September 7. Fans at the Arena Nord will be in for a treat with WBA, WBC & WBO Female Welterweight Champion Cecilia Braekhus and WBA Intercontinental Middleweight Champion Patrick Nielsen co-headlining the event.

WBA, WBC & WBO Female Welterweight Champion Cecilia Braekhus (22-0, 6 KOs) will face WBO Female Light Middleweight Champion Oxandia Castillo (12-0, 9 KOs) in a clash of unbeaten champions. While WBA Intercontinental Middleweight Champion Patrick Nielsen (19-0, 9 KOs) faces the toughest test of his career so far when he takes on Patrick ‘The Machine’ Majewski (21-1, 13 KOs).

Castillo shocked the boxing world in February when she stopped Hanna Gabriel to become world champion at the age of 18. Widely considered the “next big thing in women´s boxing”, the fearless Castillo now travels to Frederikshavn to challenge the “First Lady” at Arena Nord. “Bring it on,” Braekhus said. “This should be a great fight – two unbeaten champions, two highly-motivated fighters and a great crowd in Frederikshavn. It will be another exciting night for women´s boxing. I have a lot of respect for Oxandia´s accomplishments. Her victory over Gabriel was impressive. I know what it´s like to be the up-and-coming youngster that hunts down the big names, I´ve been in her position myself. But she has never been in the ring with someone like me. Her winning streak will come to an end on September 7.”

Said promoter Nisse Sauerland: “Braekhus versus Castillo is an exciting fight of two unbeaten champions. It´s the best fighter in the world against the biggest talent with a fearsome record. Cecilia has made a habit of defending her titles against the best opponents out there and here she is again, taking on this mysterious teenage kid with the big bang. It´s a big risk Cecilia takes, Castillo is bigger and more powerful, but when you have Cecilia´s boxing skills, there is no need to be afraid of anybody. It will be another great fight at Arena Nord.”

Nielsen’s latest opponent is relishing the opportunity to face the 22 year-old southpaw. ''This is a fight I was more than happy to accept,'' said Majewski. ''I can’t wait to come to Denmark and fight for his title. I am already ranked well with the WBC and WBO and this is an opportunity for me to move up the WBA rankings. I believe it will be a competitive fight but I am confident that when the final bell rings I will be taking the belt home with me.''

Nielsen shares his opponent’s confidence. ''This will be a tough test but one I am more than ready for,'' said the fighter from Albertslund. ''I will come prepared as always and fight with my heart. After the Andino fight my confidence is high and I know I have what it takes to take this guy out.''

Said promoter Nisse Sauerland: ''This is the toughest test to date for Patrick. Majewski is a highly ranked, world-class boxer. I have seen his fights and can see why he is called ‘The Machine’ - he just keeps coming! However I believe that Patrick will be ready and come September 7, he will announce himself even further on to the world stage.''
