WBA Super-Middleweight World Champion (Interim) Brian Magee (36-4, 25 KOs) defended his title on Saturday night in Copenhagen when he knocked out Rudy Markussen (37-3, 24 KOs) in the main event of the first Nordic Fight Night. After four open rounds, Magee landed a brutal left hook to the liver that sent his 34-year-old opponent down and out in the fifth. “It was a tough fight, Rudy was very strong but I caught him nice and clean,” Magee said. “I am pleased with my performance and very happy about the victory.” Said Markussen: “Things were going according to plan until he caught me. That´s boxing. I will be back.”

In the co-featured main event, Patrick Nielsen (13-0, 7 KOs) needed just 11 seconds to knock out Jozsef Matolcsi (30-18, 20 KOs). The 20-year-old landed a right hook and followed it up with a huge left to please his boisterous hometown crowd. Earlier, his brother Micki Nielsen (3-0, 3 KOs) clinched his third straight first-round KO victory, destroying Attila Szatmari (1-4).

Sweden´s Erik Skoglund (8-0, 4 KOs) scored a spectacular KO victory over Juan Nelongo (21-14, 9 KOs), flattening him with a huge right in the fourth round, while Norway´s Andreas Evensen (15-2, 6 KOs) cruised to an uncontested points victory over Julio Buitrago (11-12, 2 KOs). Former Danish amateur star Torben Keller (2-0) also clinched his second victory in as many fights, knocking down Dzianis Makar (3-6, 3 KOs) five times on his way to a lopsided points victory (40-31, 40-31, 40-31).
